"A-Aren't you gonna miss me?..."

-Cordelia

"Huh?... You don't wanna see your mom anymore?..."

-Roselia

Witch-B-Gone is an Item that replaces the main shop (regardless of if Cordelia or Roselia is the shopkeeper) and the Cultist Shop with 2 item chests, but it does not affect the Clinic or the Weapon Shop.

Strategy

This item has benefits and drawbacks. Though it allows the player to save money for stat upgrades and weapons, as well as helps keep Lydia alive, the player has a reduced choice of items compared to the default three with each shopkeeper, Ambrosia becomes limited to just the Clinic, and the Map for each floor is no longer obtainable. It is, however, greatly preferable for Looped Runs due to the increase in shop prices.

Synergies

  • Glory Box - Doubles the amount of items found to four, making it a consistently better alternative than buying items. However, the player still permanently misses out on buying the Map on each floor.
  • Gun Nut - Changes the items rewards from the appearing chests to be weapons instead. This can be extremely valuable for certain weapon-focused playstyles, or for obtaining extra money via Scrapping even if that can only be spent on Clinic upgrades or more weapons from the Weapon Shop.

Trivia

  • If the player buys items from the shop on a floor, then picks up Witch-B-Gone, the two items will still appear once they re-enter the room. It's recommended that the player wait until buying all other valuable items on the floor before picking up this item.
  • Despite the narrative context implying she's repulsed or hurt by it, Cordelia can obtain the Witch-B-Gone, which replaces Roselia despite her not being a witch.
  • Prior to the Updates#1.4.6 update, Witch-B-Gone mistakenly replaced the Toilet in the Bathroom, making trading Toilet Paper impossible during a run.
  • Cybil's dialogue bubbles will still appear when the player enters their chambers even when this item's effect is active.
