Elevator Button
"Weird how our elevators don't even use buttons."
Elevator Button is an Item that causes an elevator to a Sub Floor to appear on every floor the player visits. This does not include elevators to the Bank, which instead are caused to appear by The Vault.
Strategy
Elevator Button is an extremely valuable item and possibly one of the best items in the game. Due to the guaranteed availability of Sub Floors, the player has more options in how to tackle each floor, and can easily speed through a run by ignoring floor bosses entirely. Access to Sub Floors also can help the player evade danger, as they can quickly exit a floor if low on health, and the Bathroom and Arena both have guaranteed Heart Pot spawns, while the Kitchen will likely have a health-boosting Item.
Toilet Paper's secondary effect of guaranteeing Bathroom elevators overwrites this effect, so the player will not be able to visit any other Sub Floors until their Toilet Paper is spent.
Synergies
- Christmas Gift - Each Sub Floor visited activates Christmas Gift's effect, giving more items total.
- The Vault - Having both this item and The Vault provides two special elevators each floor, increasing the player's progression choices.
Trivia
- Many countries and cultures maintain superstitions about certain numbers, such as 4 in East Asian cultures or 13 in various English-speaking countries. As a result, many buildings may omit those floors entirely. These floors may outright not exist, or they may just be inaccessible by public elevators and used by the staff for maintenance.
